Kkotssul is a concept store for Korean designer’s work with a contemporary chic style. Located in Seoul, South Korea, the place harbors a sophisticated atmosphere that features locally designed pieces. A sixty year-old home, situated in a hidden alley of an established Seoul neighborhood, was renovated to create this space.

Kkotssul provides an open space for all creators to present novel works; patrons have the luxury of analyzing the art through conversation and experimentation. The art extends beyond what is displayed on the walls and shelves; unique designs are integrated into furniture, staircases and door handles. The space is clean and simple, yet stimulates onlookers to contemplate the broader concepts of the art that engulfs them.

Guests are able to enjoy handmade tea, liquor from domestic Korean breweries and various craft cocktails sourced from domestic liquors. A neighborhood chef provides a locally sourced menu to match the refreshments.

While eating, enjoying, and appreciating design, we want guests to naturally discover the value of design in daily life. Like the Chinese character 蘂(rui), which has a double meaning of ‘kkotssul’ and ‘gather’, we strive to play a pivotal role that many people or things gather and the possibilities bloom.

In addition to providing daily experiences to our guests, we have the capability of hosting various Korean art exhibitions. Our hope is that Korean designers will seek our space to introduce new or refined art.

Kkotssul provides a calm, peaceful environment for guests to socialize and collect their thoughts. Our goal is to nurture this experience from start to finish.
